Michael J. Vazquez – Director, Administration
Michael Vazquez has 20+ years of instructional, managerial and administrative experience with colorguards, marching bands, and drum corps-including Shikellamy HS, Southwestern HS, Pleasant Valley HS, Emmaus HS, Barbara Goleman HS, Elgin HS, Anderson HS, Carrizo Springs HS, Taylor HS, Hutto HS, Lockhart HS, Horizon Independent Winteguard, Northwind Independent Winterguard, Renaissance Indoor Percussion, Lehigh Valley Knights Drum Corps, Frontier Drum and Bugle Corps, and Austin Stars Drum Corps. He is currently a visual judge for USSBA and an equipment and ensemble analysis judge for TCGC and TECA.
Judith Easton – Director, Staff
Judy returns to ATX Winterguard for her third season with ATX. Originally from Maryland, she has performed with Frontier, New York Skyliners, Reading Buccaneers, and CLASSICS winterguard. Judy has taught many successful colorguard programs in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Florida. She is a co-founder of Tectonics Indoor Percussion and sits on the board of directors for Renaissance Drum and Bugle Corps from York, PA. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in psychology at The University of Texas at Austin.
Jude Boughton – Design Consultant
ATX Winterguard is proud to welcome Jude Boughton! Jude is currently the Colorguard Caption Head at Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. Before joining Spirit, Jude served as the Co-Caption Head and movement/dance instructor for the Phantom Regiment drum and bugle corps in 2003-2004 before joining the staff of the Colts as Program Coordinator for five seasons. He also served as a guest movement instructor with the Glassmen drum and bugle corps, and has served as the movement/dance technician and designer for The Black Watch Winter Guard from Mt. Laurel, NJ, for the past eight seasons as well as movement instructor for Mechanicsburg HS and Juxtaposition Winter Guards. Other teaching credits include Shikellamy HS, Pittston Area HS, Ben Davis HS, Highland HS, Clovis HS, Triton HS, and the Reading Buccaneer drum and bugle corps. Jude has also served as a movement judge and clinician focusing on movement for non-dancers since 1997, working in the past extensively for WGI, DCA, and National Judges Association. He attended Kutztown University in Pennsylvania with a focus in Theatre and Dance. Jude is currently the colorguard director at Round Rock HS.
Delia Tovar Botbol – Flag Instructor
Welcome back to Delia Tovar Botbol! A color guard instructor since 1989, Delia has been a color guard instructor for Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps (1996-1997), Revolution Drum and Bugle Corps (2001-2003), consulted with Revolution Independent Winter Guard and has taught several color guards in the Austin area. She also served as one of the coordinators for the Longhorn Music Camps from 2001-2007. Delia graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She currently works for Austin Independent School District and is in her 11th year as the Instructor for the University of Texas Longhorn Band Color Guard.
Troy Zapata – Flag Tech
ATX Welcomes back Troy Zapata for the 2011 season! Having Troy march and work with us last year was quite an experience to say the least. Originally from Utah, Troy marched at Shoemaker High School and taught their program for years after graduation. While in Austin, Troy marched with Nolan Independent A. Troy began last year as an in-line tech until he aged out, then remained on staff as an equipment technician. As a marathon runner, Troy has a wide range of knowledge of stretches and muscle control that should prove beneficial to everyone willing to learn. He is studying toward his Pharmacy degree at UT Austin.
Bucky Flores – Rifle
Bucky Flores comes from Dallas/Ft. Worth. He first started performing with Nolan Independent World (2001) and continued with St. Ann’s (2002), Patriots (2003), and Blessed Sacrament (2005). Bucky has worked with, and/or choreographed for Ronald Reagan HS, Dripping Springs HS, and Akins HS. In 2007 he worked with Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps providing rifle instruction and choreography. Bucky is currently the colorguard director at Leander HS and is also an instructor and judge with Marching Auxiliaries.
Joel Taylor – Rifle
Joel Taylor returns for his second season with ATX Winterguard! Joel marched with the Madison Scouts colorguard, and is an accomplished swing dancer as well. He is currently a science teacher at Anderson HS.
Abel Vasquez – Sabre

Dominique Oxner – Sabre Tech
Dominique Oxner began her colorguard career as a freshman at Cedar Park HS. After graduating she began teaching the Cedar Park Middle School colorguard as well as teching with the Cedar Park High School colorguard. She has also worked with Round Rock HS and more recently Georgetown HS. Dominique has marched three years of drum corps with The Glassmen, The Blueknights, and The Cadets and two years of winterguard as a member of Identity. Dominique looks forward to teaching and learning from a great group of performers.
Moses Ramos – Movement
Moses returns for his 3rd season with ATX Winterguard!
Meghan Thomas – Endurance/Flexibility/Movement
Meghan started color guard as a 7th grader in her home state of Kentucky. She marched fall and winter seasons all through high school and participated in DCI with Southwind in 2002. After moving to Texas she taught at Temple HS, Westlake HS, Vista Ridge HS, and is currently movement tech at Rouse HS. She was a member of Millennia Independent WG in 2006, and has been teaching dance and movement for 9 years.
